Pillowcase Dresses

On Sat morning Momma made Kinley another dress, which she wanted to pose in (again) and also a shirt. This morning before church Kinley asked me what I was making her today... Have a feeling I better take advantage of her liking the things I make her and thinking what Mommy likes is "cool" cause I just don't think it will be like this forever! :)







Meet our little model... Kinley Lynn - who just HAD to stay up to try on the new dress Momma made her tonight. The only problem is the dress was started after 9:00 (as the kids were going to bed) so she got to stay up extra late! We were cracking up that she really wanted to "pose" for the pics! :)

While Ms. Nikki is helping Kinley to her bed -
Ms. Nikki: Climb in your bed!
Kinley: Ummm, my sheet is in the dishwasher!
Ms. Nikki: No, you have a sheet on your bed.
Kinley: Nope, look, Kinley's sheet is in the dishwasher! (while showing her pillow)
Ms. Nikki comes in and translates and asks Momma - So is Kinley's PILLOWCASE in the WASHING MACHINE?

Ms. Nikki was correct!

At a wedding reception last weekend-
Momma: Kinley do you want a highchair?
Kinley: No, Kinley Big Girl!
Momma: Don't you think it would be easier if we got a high chair?
Kinley: Naaaawwww!
Momma: I think it would be easier for Momma to get a high chair.
Kinley: BUT MOMMY, YOU WAAAAY TOO BIG!!!!!!!!!

Kinley being Daddy's girl, thinking her Momma puts pillowcases in dishwashers, and exclaiming how HUGE her Momma is are all doing wonders for my self confidence this week! :)

Getting Dressed - Aunt Kayla Style...

With Momma being the oldest of 6, I have the advantage of remember all my younger siblings "activities" growing up. I see things in Kinley daily that remind me of my younger sisters. Yesterday was a day of AUNT KAYLA! Momma remembers Gma Oakley having to "threaten" Aunt Kayla with a spanking if she changed her clothes one more time in specific day (the threats only came after at least 3 or 4 outfit changes). Kinley does't really change entire outfits, just adding and changing accessories throughout the day.


Momma waited too long to fix Kinley's hair, so she took care of it herself!


Let's note that it was warm enough to play outside at 8 am, but Kinley must have been cold at 1 pm...


"Mom, you could help instead of snap pics"


Add 2 tutus and some mittens...


The final touch, late in the afternoon, her pink Yankee hat!

We aren't sure when she had the time for all her wardrobe changes because she and Jax played outside in the backyard 4 1/2 hours yesterday! We are still LOVING our great Spring weather!

Perfect Day at the Park!

I'm sure everyone got sick of hearing Momma say how nice the weather was yesterday at the park, but it just seems like we go straight from too cold or wet to play outside to SMOOTHERING HOT down here in Houston so I was truly greatful for the perfect weather for Kinley and Jax to play outside with our friends!
