Kinley's Duck!

I saw this idea to take pics of all your kids artwork and make a photo book so you would always have their "art" instead of worrying about loosing crumbled pieces of paper over the years. This momma's not doing a great job keeping hold of things or making a photo book so I thought I would take a pic every once in awhile of the stages of writing an coloring/drawing so we could (hopefully) see improvement as Kinley grows! Here is a picture of a duck that she drew this week. She was so proud of it and then she had to write all of her friends names (ok, not all of them, but several that she can write). Love how intently she works on her little projects!

PS - And for those of you who are gonna tell Momma she needs some help with uppercase letters in the middle of the name (you know who you are...), we will get around to that... someday! :)

Just for Fun!

Jen W. called today to see if she could stop by and practice with her new lens, of course I said yes, despite the fact no one had showered since going to the pool today and the kids had just gotten out of bed from their naps. I still think she got some great shots of this cute (and dirty) little miss! :) These are just a few of my favs - thanks for the fun "practice" session Jen! You are doing such an AMAZING job and I love the new lens!

PS - What do you all think of Kinley's fashion choices??? Anyone want to hire her to help you get dressed in the morning? :)

Kinely and Ella Match!

This week we met friends at Chick-fil-a to play and eat before going to the pool, Ella's mommy wasn't able to swim that day so Ella came along to the pool and stayed with us until church that night. Of course, if a friend is staying before church you MUST wear outfits that match - so this is what we came up with! :)

Misunderstanding...

Conversation between Momma and Kinley this week...

Kinley: (a little nervous to ask) Momma, Tay Tay is 4 and she still stays with her mommy?!?

(oh, no, is she trying to tell me she wants to stay with me during the day next year instead of going to preschool....)

Momma: What do you mean she stays with her mommy?

Kinley: She still gets to live at her house, even though she is four.

Momma: Yes, that is right, why wouldn't she?

Kinley: Can I stay at your house when I am a big girl and turn 4?

Momma: Yes, honey, you can stay with Daddy and I for a very long time!

Kinley: You mean you aren't gonna be the Grandma and I don't have to move away?

Momma: Someday, like in 20 some years I will be the Grandma and you can move out of my house, but for right now, you are gonna stay right here with me and Daddy!

Kinley: Oh Good!

We have explained to Kinley before that Momma used to live with Gma and Gpa Oakley and Daddy used to live with Gma and Gpa Coleman, but when we GREW UP and got married we moved into our own house and had her and Jaxon. Since she is turning 4 in a couple of months and we always tell her how she is GROWING UP so fast, she thought she was moving out after her birthday and Daddy and I were gonna be Grandma and Grandpa. I also wonder if she has heard me say that I will really "miss her" during the mornings she is at pre-school in the fall, maybe that also was part of the confusion. A funny story, but so sad to know she has been worried about this, and even been "nervous" to ask us about it.

Splash Pad Fun!

This a cool place we just heard about and went to with a group of our friends today. Love that it is close and a mix of "park and pool"!

Staying with Mr. Brian and Ms. Nikki!

A couple of weeks ago Momma and Daddy got a little "break" to go to a teacher conference in Dallas. We had a GREAT time and are so thankful for Mr. Brian and Ms. Nikki for volunteering to keep BOTH kids while we were away. We should also note that Ms. Nikki is 7 months pregnant and Mr. Brian is working on his masters degree and coaching during the summer. The kids had a blast, Ms. Nikki was glad Jaxon "brought his swat stick" (read his blog a couple weeks ago for more to that story). They made trips to McDonald's, the Library, a playdate, and Bouncin Bears. They did crafts, made cookies and had an all out special "vacation" of there own staying with the Lees! I'm sure Ms. Nikki didn't have much time for picture taking with taking care of two toddlers and a baby in her belly, but Mr. Brian had one quick pic from his phone to post on the blog! Thanks again for EVERYTHING Brian and Nikki!!!!
